Obituary

Virginia V. Redin peacefully went to be with her Heavenly Father on April 18, 2026, surrounded by the loving warmth of her family. She was born on March 21, 1934, in San Antonio, Texas, and was blessed with 92 beautiful years. A devoted Catholic, she found strength, comfort, and guidance in her faith and in prayer throughout her life.

Virginia cherished being surrounded by her family. She treasured every moment spent together—whether it was a simple gathering or a special celebration. She had a gift for making each occasion meaningful, filling it with laughter, love, and lasting memories. She shared her faith, talents, and wisdom generously, while always remaining open to learning something new. This kept her closely connected to younger generations, whom she adored. She could often be found on the sidelines, proudly cheering on her loved ones at games and events. She encouraged education, independence, and the importance of strong family bonds, and she lived those values every day.

A talented and dedicated seamstress, Virginia turned her creativity into both a livelihood and a way to show love. She lovingly created clothes, cheer and dance uniforms, elegant dresses, and countless handmade treasures—quilts, dolls, purses, and Fiesta decorations—that will be cherished for years to come. She began her career at Hamilton’s and Joskie’s and later worked alongside her family at Superior Upholstery. Her talents enriched both her work and her personal life, and she found great joy in sharing her skills with those she loved.

Virginia had a spirit for adventure and a love for life. She traveled to spend time with family across the country, always embracing new places, cultures, and experiences. She enjoyed trying new foods, attending festivals, shows, and concerts, and taking long walks to take in the beauty around her. She especially loved classic movies and music—Elvis Presley being a favorite—and delighted in sharing those joys with others. One of her happiest places was fishing in Port Aransas, often playfully insisting she would catch the biggest fish—and she often did.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Ida Rodriguez and Joe Villarreal; her stepfather, Gregorio Rodriguez; her husband, Ralph Redin; and her siblings, Joe Villarreal, Viola Hopkins, Eddie Rodriguez, and Irene Lopez.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Viola, Jerry, Ralph, Barbara (Russell), and Belinda (Alan); her grandchildren: David (Janette), Nicolas (Laurel), Nathan, Nolan, Angela, Debbie (Andrew), Jennifer, Sandra, Laura, Selena, Sabrina (Juan), and Ralph Jr. (Marina); 11 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Dave, Vickie, Peggy, Greg, and Diana; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She will be forever loved and deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.

Goodbyes are not forever; they are not the end. They simply mean we will miss you until we meet again.
