Obituary

In Loving Memory of Yolanda Ybarra Martinez

September 2, 1938 – October 17, 2026

Yolanda Ybarra Martinez, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished family member, passed away on October 17, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on September 2, 1938, in San Antonio, Texas, Yolanda lived a life marked by strength, love, and devotion to her family.

Yolanda was a strong woman whose family meant everything to her. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, memories, and a lasting impact on the lives of those who knew and loved her.

Yolanda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elizaldo Martinez; her daughter, JoAnn Linda Gomez; her mother, Marguerite Ybarra; her father, Arthur Ybarra; her brother, Juan Ybarra; and her sister, Irma Ybarra.

She is survived by her loving children: Eddie (Marie) Martinez, Johnny (Elizabeth) Martinez, Arthur (Jobie) Martinez, and Yvonne Mendoza. She also leaves behind 18 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by her companion, Mr. Gomez.

Yolanda had a personality and spirit that made her special to everyone around her. She especially loved the holidays and enjoyed showing her festive spirit by wearing holiday-themed earrings.

She was also a devoted fan of the San Antonio Spurs and loved watching their basketball games, even staying up late to cheer on her favorite team. Shopping was another one of her favorite pastimes, and trips to Sam’s Club and Marshalls were among the simple pleasures she enjoyed most.

Though her passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who loved her, her strength, devotion to her family, and moments shared with her will never be forgotten.

Yolanda will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by God’s everlasting love. ❤️
