Yolanda "Yolie"
Mata
November 27, 1957 – March 8, 2022
Yolanda "Yolie" Mata entered into rest in the early hours of Tuesday March 8, 2022, with the love of her family surrounding her.
Yolanda was born November 27, 1957, to parents Lino and Ignacia Garcia. She lived her life as a caring mother and devoted homemaker. Prior to the decline of her health, she enjoyed cooking authentic Mexican dishes for her family. She had a passion for gardening and took great pride in her rose beds. Yolanda was entertained by watching Telenovelas and Spanish talk shows. She enjoyed playing and especially winning at Loteria during family gatherings. Her smile was infectious.
Yolanda was a Godly woman, a prayer warrior, and an incredibly strong woman. She fought a courageous battle and abided by one of her favorite bible verses: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."- Joshua 1:9. She left a legacy for her family and through her, we know resilience and perseverance.
Yolanda was predeceased by her parents Lino and Ignacia Garcia and siblings Raymond Garcia, Gilbert Garcia, Virginia Maldonado, Joe Garcia, Rudy Garcia and Lino Garcia Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Víctor Manuel Mata Sr., her sons Víctor Manuel Mata Jr., Manuel Mata and Joel Mata, her daughter, Rose Mata-Patiño, her son-in-law Paul, her daughters Nancy Mata and Yolanda Marie Muñoz, her son-in-law Luis, three adored granddaughters, Eileen, Alexia and AnaLeah, and her siblings, Luis Garcia, Jimmy Garcia, Gloria Valdez, Sylvia Lucio, Danny Garcia and Robert Garcia.
" But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep." -Thessalonians 4:13-14.
