Yolanda Perez Montes, our beloved matriarch, entered eternal rest on February 23, 2024, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. She was born on November 24, 1951, here in San Antonio, Texas. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, Yolanda leaves behind a profound legacy of love and cherished memories.

Yolanda and Alfredo H. Montes joined in marriage on February 27, 1994, and this year would have marked their 30th anniversary. She is survived by her loving husband, Alfredo H. Montes; sons, Jimmy Vasquez, and Richard Vasquez; daughter, April Montes; stepdaughter, Tanya Montes; stepson, Alfredo Montes Jr.; daughters-in-law, Mandi Vasquez, and Jessica Montes; grandchildren, Richard Aaron Vasquez, Marissa Vasquez, Jeremy Vasquez, Evie Vasquez, and Aiden Bustos; great-grandchildren, Luke Vasquez, Kehlani Vasquez, and Levi Vasquez; brother, George Ortiz; sisters, Oralia Medina, Sylvia Cervantes, and Gloria Garza.

Preceding her in death were her father, Jose Perez; mother, Elisa Ortiz; brothers, Candelario Cervantes, Jesse Cervantes, Daniel Ortiz, and Joe Perez; and sisters, Julia Rosas, and Guadalupe Cervantes.

Yolanda found immense joy in the company of her dogs and cherished moments with her grandchildren. She delighted in attending family gatherings, where she would dance the night away. An unwavering fan of the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Cowboys, she added her spirited energy to every game.

A brave and loving mother, Yolanda stood steadfastly by her children through every challenge, exemplifying resilience, and hard work. Her vibrant spirit and love will be deeply missed by her close family, siblings, cousins, numerous nieces and nephews, and friends.

Funeral Services include visitation on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, with a Rosary at 6:00 PM at Castillo Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, departing from Castillo Funeral Home at 9:30 AM. Internment will take place at San Fernando Cemetery II.
