March 15, 1952 – July 28, 2023
Yolanda Mora Solano, 73, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on July 28th, 2023, due to
cancer surrounded by her daughter, Jennifer and Son-in-Law, Danny. She was born March 15th,
1952 to Juanita and Valentin Mora.
Yolanda had a contagious, loving personality that was admired by many.
Yolanda was born and raised in San Antonio Texas. started her family in San Antonio, raising
her children. She became the very proud mother of Jesus, Greg, and Jennifer, later on in life,
Yolanda welcomed Blanca into the family. She loved her children very much and one of her
biggest hopes in life was for their success and happiness.
Yolanda was a casino enthusiast, novelas watcher, she enjoyed making blankets and cooking
for her friends and family. Yolanda was known for cooking her ribs and rice, and also making
some morning favorites, including potato and egg tacos and pancakes.
Yolanda will be truly missed by the family and friends she left behind. The memory of her
fun-loving, witty and carefree nature will be carried on through her loved ones.
She is survived by her children, Jesus Ponciano, Greg Castilleja, Jennifer Castilleja and her
husband Danny Amezquita. Her siblings Fernando Mora, Jose-Luis Mora, Eugenio Mora,
Andrea Huron, and Johnny Mora.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Destiny, Danny, Lilani, Adrianna, Julie, Naomi, Jesus,
Heaven, a lot of great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Juanita and Valentin Mora, past brothers and sisters
and past partner Juan Solano.
Visitation and Viewing takes place on Monday, August 14th at Castillo Funeral Home, 520 N
General McMullen Dr, San Antonio, TX 78228, Viewing is from 3:30 P.M. - 8 P.M and Rosary
starting at 6 P.M. Funeral procession will start on Tuesday, August 15th to Our Lady of the
Angels Church, 1214 Stonewall Street at 11 A.M. With ground burial at Fort Sam Houston at 1
P.M. 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, TX 78209.
