Obituary

Yvonne "Bonnie Ray" Lara Guerra gained her wings at the early age of 40. She was surrounded with the warmth, love and affection of her dearest family members as the Lord called her home on June 21,2023.

Yvonne is preceded in death by her grandparents, Miguel & Hilaria Ramirez; grandfather, Louis Lara; uncle, Miguel Ramirez Jr.; aunts, Alice & Belia Ramirez; stepfathers, Michael Rodriguez Sr. & Dagoberto Mendoza; and father-in-law, Roland Guerra Sr.

She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Roland Guerra Jr.; mother, Yolanda Rodriguez Mendoza; father, Larry Shifty Lara (Margaret Arredondo); children, Gabrielle Gomez (Lauren), Mark Gomez (Marcelino), Jaida Gomez, Roland Guerra, III, and O'Ryan Guerra; two grandchildren; siblings, Valerie Lara Sandoval (Marc Anthony), Michael Charles Rodriguez Jr., Hilary Alisha Rodriguez (Martin Jr.), Brian Steven Rodriguez, Amanda Elizabeth Rodriguez (Elvis); and many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and numerous brother & sisters-in-laws, several cousins & closest cousins, Anthony Leon Martinez & Monica Marie Garcia; and extended family and friends.

Bonnie enjoyed night time walks at Elmendorf Park with her husband Roland. She loved spending time with all her nieces and nephews. She was their "Tia Bon." She loved cooking, cleaning, doing yard work for her neighbors, and unselfishly giving her time to help anyone she could. She loved singing and saying, "Oooh, thats my song!" to mostly all of them. She still liked picking pecans like her Pompo showed her as a kid when they were in season. She also enjoyed coloring, doing word search puzzles, watching movies, then later quoting them at the right moments, which made us laugh. She loved decorating with string lights and candles, and how she loved entering sweepstakes. She was a collector of many things but also loved to share what she had with friends or anyone in need. She was a hard worker, and so lovable, generous and considerate, always put the needs of others before her own.

She would always say, "I love u too much!" Yvonne loved her "mamita" her children, her husband, her siblings, and her family to the moon and back! We love her too and none of us will ever be the same without her. Who knew that with one person missing the world could feel so empty? When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure, and Yvonne is someone who will be treasured, loved and missed forever!

" I am because you were!"
