On Friday, January 2nd, 2026, Juanita Valderas, our loving mother, was peacefully called home to rest while her children were by her side.

She found her greatest joy in her family. When her children were young, she lovingly sewed many of our clothes. She was gifted in art and loved creating beautiful yard decorations and crafts for holidays that brought joy to family, friends, and neighbors. Traditions were so important to our mom with events and recipes year round that she loved to share with us - Tamales, empanadas, capirotada. A massive San Antonio Spurs fan, she enjoyed going to games and cheering on her favorite team. She was a constant presence for her family, guiding her children with patience and unconditional love.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jesus Valderas; her eldest child, Jesse Valderas; her sister, Melinda Salas; and her brother, Mike Morales.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, in birth order: Diana (Adrian) Valderas, Edward (Erlinda) Valderas, Carlos (Adriana) Valderas, and Linda (Danny) Garza.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Paige, Patrick, Jordan, Phoenix, Jack and Phoebe; Jonathan, James, and Angela; Julianne, Kaitlyn, and Lauren; Evan and Anisa; Evelyn and Austin; and her great-granddaughter, Kimberly.

Juanita was loved deeply by so many and will be profoundly missed. Her legacy of faith, kindness, creativity, and family devotion will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew her.
