Luis Mario
Elizondo
July 8, 1959 – October 2, 2022
Luis Mario Elizondo went to the Lord in the morning hours of Saturday, October 2, 2022, at the age of 63.
He was born on July 8, 1959, in San Antonio, Texas. Son of the late Flora and Pedro Elizondo, he would find a place as one of ten siblings. Those early years of his life are where he and his siblings where shown a foundation of love and family support received from their parents. A time where big personalities of those around him but especially Luis' were polished to lead the incredible life he led.
Luis loved sports but especially football where he was the ultimate fan to teams, the Texas Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys. Those who were too loud or asked many questions during a game with his teams on were sure to be yelled at. This was a known annoyance to those around him especially to Luis' young nieces and nephews who tested him repeatedly.
In addition to all the accomplishments he achieved in life he ultimately will be remembered for his love of the simple pleasures in life. Times remember of him; yelling at the TV in his room so loudly that his mother Flora had to yell back, "Ya callate Mario!"; being outside enjoying the sun with his drinks of choice, sex on the beach or a Smirnoff in the company of his brothers and in-laws; or the precious gatherings of those he loved for family victories and holiday celebrations. Those are the movements of his life that truly made him happiest. The final quarter in his game of life has finished with a win and now Luis joins those who went before him celebrate in victory. Times of him exists now in our memories and forever will family and friends remember and honor his legacy.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Flora Rodriguez Elizondo; father, Pedro Pompa Elizondo; and brothers, Ray, Robert, and Marco.
He is survived by brothers, Fernie Elizondo, Peter Elizondo, Rogelio Solis, and Raul Solis; sisters, Maria Aviles and Rosa Fonseca; niece, Crystal Solis as well as many beloved nieces and nephew; in addition to numerous extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022, at Castillo Funeral Home from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm.
