Maria G. Escamilla
February 16,1951 – April 11th 2026
Maria Guadalupe Escamilla, lovingly known as "Lulu," passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026 in her hometown of San Antonio, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Maria M. Escamilla and Domingo Escamilla, her brother, Juan D. Escamilla, and her sister, Norma Escamilla.
Although small in stature, Lulu loved immensely. She was genuine, generous and always welcoming to all. She was dedicated both to her family and her work. Her loyalty to her time spent at Dillards, St. Mary's University, Holmes High School and the families she supported lasted a lifetime.
Lulu was the oldest of four siblings and proudly claimed her nieces and nephews as her own children. She loved, supported and protected them. She was a parent in every way that mattered and that love was reciprocated as such.
She was as fiercely independent and strong-willed as she was giving. Lulu always remained eager to learn. Her interests ranged from cooking to musical instruments, sign language and even steno graphing. Her love for action movies, yard sales, loteria and celebrations will always be remembered by those who loved her.
She is survived and missed beyond words by her sister, Virginia E. Aguilar, nephew Tom R. Espinoza Jr., niece Stephanie L. Espinoza; niece Lisa Blancarte & her husband Joe, nephew Domingo Escamilla & his wife Amy, nephew Edward Ramon & his wife Cecile, nephew Eugene Ramon & niece Adela Ramon, as well as several cherished great nieces and nephews.
Lulu was the heart of her family and the link that kept many connected. She will be dearly missed by all those she met.
